Empowering Tomorrow's Leaders

We spend half of every staff meeting engaging with Public Health Discussions (PHD's). Every week this time is dedicated to investing in the education of our staff members so that they are better prepared to create the impact they want to see. These presentations are interactive and discussion-based. Topics are chosen from a curriculum designed by leaders within the organizations, mainly working towards public health literacy, no matter any student's prior exposure to the subject matter. Space is purposefully left in the curriculum to allow GHA staff members to teach their peers about issues that they care about. We are also often given the opportunity to host experts in the field during our small staff meetings, giving students the opportunity to hear from and interact with people active in the public health field.
